THIS weekend sees the return of the Autumn Harrogate Flower Show, writes Hannah Allies.

Taking place at the Great Yorkshire Showground, the show offers thousands of gardeners a chance to celebrate horticultral successes of 2012, as well as providing ideas, plants and products for the new growing year.

Inspiration for the garden can be found all over the show with 12 beautiful borders designed and created by gardeners from across the country.

This year will also see the show’s first international garden entry by Dutch designer Vincent Huijboom.

Martin Fish, director of the show, said: “The show borders were launched last year to offer our visitors affordable, but inspirational, ideas for their gardens.

“We have even more entries for visitors to enjoy this autumn and have expanded the competition to include a larger garden category.”

Kitchen Garden Live and the Garden Roadshow will also be on hand with talks, demonstrations and one-to-one discussions to help with visitors’ gardening queries.

The show is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm every day. Ticket prices are £15 on Friday and Saturday, and £14 on Sunday, with free admission for under- 16s. Tickets are available on the gate.
