OH yes she is. Oh no, maybe she isn’t...

The actress playing Cinderella at York Barbican’s festive panto will be going to a different ball on the Saturday before Christmas – if she reaches the final of Strictly Come Dancing.

Tracey Beaker star Dani Harmer, pictured, who has the leading role in the Christmas panto, has also been chosen to take part in hit BBC show this autumn.

She will be competing against the likes of Victoria Pendleton, Nicky Byrne and Michael Vaughan in the show hosted by Sir Bruce Forsyth.

In the panto, she will be acting alongside I’m A Celebrity’s King of the Jungle Joe Swash and Hollyoaks’ Joe Tracini.

The panto starts on Friday, December 21, and runs until Sunday, December 30. Tickets have gone on sale, priced at £20 for adults and £16 for children.

But organisers have confirmed that if Dani were to go all the way to the final, she would miss the performances on Saturday, December 22.

“However, we do have measures in place to ensure customers are aware of this and a guarantee that anyone who had bought tickets for that performance and wanting to see her would get the opportunity to see her in another performance,” said Gary Telfer, the producer and owner of Blue Genie Entertainment, the company producing the pantomime.

A Barbican spokeswoman said the show would be “packed with great songs, amazing dance routines, plenty of laughter and Shetland ponies – this is a tremendous treat for all the family you won’t want to miss!

“Welcome to the world of fairytales, where poor Cinderella is doomed to live unhappily ever after with her two horrible Ugly Sisters. Cinderella manages with the help of her friend, Buttons, and a magical Fairy Godmother to make all her dreams come true.

“Watch with amazement as her pumpkin and white mice are transformed into a beautiful coach and horses in this true rags to riches story, but will Cinderella remember to leave the ball before midnight?”
