Second exhibition of Wetherby Asda store plans

ASDA is to hold a second public exhibition about its plans for a new supermarket in Wetherby.

The company proposes to build a new store, with a sales area of 25,000 sq ft, petrol filling station and 265 car parking spaces, at a site on the A168 Hudson Way, next to Sandbeck Industrial Estate.

It expects to create more than 200 new jobs. A previous public exhibition took place in March of this year.

Philip Bartram, senior property communications manager, said: “We’ve been very pleased with the response so far from Wetherby residents, but we are keen to ensure that as many local people as possible have the opportunity to air their views. This is especially the case in the north of the town, where the new store would be located, and this is why we have chosen to hold a second exhibition in that area.”

The exhibition will be held at Deighton Gate Primary School on September 19 from 1pm to 7pm.
