THE Ebor Probus Club have held their first meeting of the year.

To celebrate, the meeting was entertained by the Daytones Harmony Chorus, an amateur barbershop choir from Wetherby. The singers performed popular songs such as I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles and You’ll Never Walk Alone.

The Probus is a social club for retired businessmen and meets once a fortnight at Dringhouses Church Hall. Geoffrey Geddes, secretary of the club, said: “The Probus Club is a great way to socialise. We meet on Wednesday mornings and enjoy tea and coffee, and listen to interesting presentations.”

The club meets between September and May, and their next meeting takes place on Wednesday 19.
