Multiyork Furniture store in York to shut
8:54am Wednesday 12th September 2012 in News
FURNITURE retailer Multiyork Furniture Limited is to close its Piccadilly store in York.
The business is in consultation with its four staff, it said, to see if there are opportunities for redeployment.
The shop will close on October 17. The Harrogate and Beverley stores will remain open as well as the company's other stores across the country.
Multiyork said: “The decision has been taken because the retail landscape of York has changed over the last few years and the store’s current location is no longer conducive with quality furniture retailing.”
Brighthouse, the household goods retailer which promotes a weekly payment structure, will be moving into the premises.
The company, which already has a shop in Selby , confirmed it was to open in York in November, creating ten new jobs.

Earlier I was going to eat a banana. Then I didn't.
That decision was taken because the high quality landscape of my digestive tract over the last few minutes is no longer conducive to tropical fruit.
Worst press release ever.
Business no longer viable or not making enough money anymore or heart's not in it or old enough and made enough to retire or whatever.
Just say what it is.
Corporate spin is almost believable for big corporations when it's done well.
That was nowhere near.
