Gas work hold-ups in Heworth Green

MOTORISTS heading into the centre of York are facing queues caused by gas works until this weekend.
Essential repair work is being carried out on a main in Heworth Green, which has led to temporary traffic lights being put in place.
This has caused extra morning rush-hour congestion on the route, as well as in Layerthorpe.
The work, which is also affecting traffic in Mill Lane, began on Monday.
A spokesman for Northern Gas Networks said: “We hope to have everything completed by the weekend.”
