STAFF from a York city centre hotel have been lending a hand at a nearby church this week.
The volunteers from the Park Inn have taken on the task of painting the church railings at All Saints in North Street, a job that will help to keep the Grade I listed church looking its best.
The hotel staff have undertaken the project as part of a month-long scheme helping the local community.
Carol Ward, sales and marketing co-ordinator at the Park Inn, said: “I’m really looking forward to playing a part in the upkeep of this wonderful church.”
Father Andrew Horsman, parish priest at All Saints, was thrilled to receive the help, as the church relies on volunteers for building maintenance.
He said: “Like most parish churches we have no paid staff, so we are really grateful to the Park Inn for doing this work for us.”
