15-year-old cyclist killed on East Yorkshire road named by police

A 15-YEAR-OLD cyclist fatally injured in a crash on the B1230 Hull Road, near Goole, has been named by police as Samuel Joe Brown.

The teenager, from Gilberdyke, was cycling with another 15-year-old boy at Eastrington on Thursday evening, when the incident occurred at about 8.50pm, close to the Rose and Crown public house.

The boys were cycling from Howden towards Gilberdyke on the eastbound carriageway, when the collision took place with a dark grey Audi A4 being driven by a 67-year-old local woman.

The driver was arrested in connection with the incident, and released on police bail. The second 15-year-old boy received hospital treatment for an injury to the shoulder.
