Scarecrows go for gold in Huntington
7:51am Monday 10th September 2012 in News
OLYMPIC athletes Mo Farah and Usain Bolt joined the Queen and Prince Phillip in Huntington at this year’s scarecrow festival.
The famous faces were just some of the many entries created by talented Huntington residents to display in gardens throughout the area over the weekend.
Sylvia Jobling, who organised the event with husband David, said: “It’s been absolutely manic but in a good way. It’s been really, really busy but everyone seems to have had a good time.”
She said: “There have been some stunning creations. Some of them are like Hollywood productions.
“People spend weeks and weeks on them.”
The winner of the best scarecrow will be decided by public vote and is due to be announced this evening.
