A WOMAN who was hit by a train at a crossing near Harrogate was in a serious but stable condition in hospital last night.
British Transport Police said the woman, who is understood to be aged 27, suffered head injuries when she was hit by the train at Forest Lane Crossing, at about 8am yesterday morning.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A BTP spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The train involved was the 7.56am Knaresborough to Leeds service. The line was handed back to Network Rail at 8.56 am.”
