FANS crowded into York’s Fenwick department store to see singing sensation Lulu officially open its new-look beauty hall.

Shortly before cutting the ribbon at the launch party last night, Lulu was joined by former Pop Idol star Gareth Gates and actress Jennifer Ellison who are both starring in Legally Blonde The Musical at the Grand Opera House.

York party band Huge helped get the party started as Lulu, who shot to fame at the age of 15 when Shout hit the charts, shared her beauty secrets, talked about her Time Bomb and Operation Glam ranges, and took questions from the audience.

Lulu looks great but I would like to know who was the genius who had her give a speech outside Fenwicks and put all the speakers inside behind double glazed doors?! Couldn't hear anything, what a shame.
