Green light for Haxby Road sports hub

A YORK university has secured permission for temporary sports facilities on playing fields in the city.

York St John University is working on plans for a sporting hub at Mille Crux, off Haxby Road, which it bought from Nestlé earlier this year.

It has said the full scheme will take several years to deliver, leading to an application being made for a temporary two-storey building housing changing rooms and teaching space to be built at the site.

The plans have now been approved by City of York Council , meaning the structure can remain in place for up to five years.
