Fire breaks out in bedroom of York house
10:02am Sunday 2nd September 2012 in News
A HOUSE in York has been damaged after a fire broke out in one of its bedrooms.
Firefighters were called to the property in Byland Avenue just before 8.30pm yesterday after reports of smoke coming from the house.
By the time the two crews from York had got to the scene, everybody who was in the house when the fire started was outside and safe. The flames caused fire and heat damage to the bedroom and smoke damage to the first floor of the building.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said one person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but did not need hospital treatment.
