Can you give a dog a home?

ANIMAL lovers who have the spare time and commitment to adopt one of these unwanted dogs are being urged to get in touch.
Lucy, Dylan and Sandy are the latest animals to have been found by Selby District Council’s dog warden, and are now in a local kennel waiting for new owners.
Elizabeth Dalton, who owns the kennels at Church Fenton where the dogs are waiting to be rehomed, said the new arrivals may have sad backgrounds, but still had much to offer.
She said: “They are all stray, but I think three have been traced back to their owners who said they no longer wanted them. The dogs are all happy, healthy and fit, which makes it an even bigger shame. We find the summer holidays always seem to be busier, probably because of the nice weather, doors are open, children are playing out or families are going away.”
Keith Armstrong, the council’s dog warden, said in Dylan’s case, the owner had contacted the council for help. “She’s a young lady who is heavily pregnant and has two dogs.
Her partner had left, and she felt she couldn’t handle the situation.
If you can help, phone Elizabeth on 07775 662190.
