Boy, six, critically injured in crash

A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy is critically ill in hospital after a collision with a car in a North Yorkshire town.

The youngster suffered a serious head injury in the crash, which involved a silver Rover 75 being driven by a 68-year-old man from Chepstow, on Newby Crescent in Harrogate at about 5.45pm yesterday.

The boy, who is from Harrogate, is being treated in Leeds General Infirmary and North Yorkshire Police said he was in a critical but stable condition. The driver of the Rover was not injured.
