Press website is one of the fastest growing in the country
THE Press’s website has one of the fastest growing audiences in the country, the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) multiplatform circulation figures have revealed.
In the first six months of the year, thepress.co.uk’s audience grew year on year by 26.9 per cent.
This makes thepress.co.uk the fastest growing title owned by newspaper group Newsquest, and the 12th fastest growing in the country.
It now attracts a daily average audience of 23,949 unique users.
Newsquest said more than a quarter of visitors to its local media websites were using smart phone and tablet devices in June 2012, up from 10.6 per cent in the first six months of 2011.
Roger Green, managing director of digital media for Newsquest, said: “Commercially, Newsquest’s digital advertisers are benefiting not just from our numbers but also from innovations in demographic, behavioural and contextual tools that get the right messages to the right people at the right time.”
Steve Hughes, managing editor of The Press, said: “It’s up to us to deliver the quality and reliable information our customers want, when they want it and how they want it.
"That may be on their smart phone, laptop or tablet device, or they may prefer the more leisurely read, reaction and analysis that we can provide in The Press.”
