Holly celebrates GCSE success

TALENTED teenager Holly Gardiner is celebrating after scooping 11 A* grades at GCSE.
Holly joined fellow pupils and staff at The Mount School in York which has record GCSE results this year.
Year 11 girls have achieved the school’s best GCSE grades to date with the highest number of A* and A grades ever.
More than a quarter of the girls got at least five A* grades and two thirds of all entries were an A or above.
Holly swept the board with 11 A*s, Alice Grierson achieved nine A*s and two As and Maddy Taylor also gained nine A*s and one A.
Principal, Julie Lodrick said: "The staff and I are extremely proud of all the girls. They have worked very hard and fully deserve their success.”
Principal Lodrick expressed the school’s aim to balance extra curricular activities with exam taking.
She said:“We are keen to ensure that girls receive a broad and balanced education and that they undertake a wide range of educational experiences aimed at enriching and extending their abilities and understanding.
“There are many opportunities for enrichment; cross curricular links, educational visits both day and residential, cultural visits and field courses, in the UK and abroad."
