Pedigree dogs stolen from North Yorkshire house
11:16am Wednesday 22nd August 2012 in News
Miniature Dachshunds, Roxie, aged two, and Queenie, aged six
THIEVES have stolen a pair of Miniature Dachshunds from a property in North Yorkshire.
The pedigree dogs, Roxie, aged two, and Queenie, aged six, were taken from a house off the A661 between Plompton Woods and Spofforth, close to Knaresborough, between 11.45am and 2.10pm yesterday.
Sergeant Matt Hagen, from North Yorkshire Police, said: ”Roxie and Queenie’s owners are absolutely distraught at the loss of their beloved pets and I am appealing to anyone who can help us find them to get in touch.
“We would particularly like to speak to the occupants of a blue Mercedes Vito panel van which was parked near to the owner’s home on the afternoon of the thefts.”
Police also said Queenie has recently suffered from a severe slipped disc and needs daily medication to help this condition. Without this medication her back legs could collapse.
Anyone else who knows anything about the thefts or knows the whereabouts of the two dogs should phone police on 101, select option 1 and ask for Cheryl Power, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
