LIGHTNING struck two York houses during a thunderstorm at lunchtime today.
Nik Pickard said he was at home at his house in Moor Lane, Woodthorpe, looking out at the storm when there was a “really big bang and a white flash”.
“I also felt a bit prickly,” he said. He said the power surge had knocked out some of the house’s electricity and blown his laptop computer, although there was no visible damage to the exterior of the property.
Mr Pickard added that the centre of the storm did not appear to be over Woodthorpe, although there was heavy hail at the time.
