Thieves steal £500 of rock

THIEVES have stolen £500 of rock after forcing their way into a beach kiosk.

The thieves approached the wooden ice cream kiosk on the Esplanade in Bridlington and smashed through padlocks on the wooden shutters, before reaching in and taking all the sticks of rock candy from nine shelves inside.

The theft happened between 10.30pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday.

Police said the shop was left locked and secure at the end of the working day and the burglary was discovered by the owner when she arrived the next morning.

Police ask anyone who saw anything suspicious or who has information about the stolen sweets to phone on 101.
