Road closures for York 10K run

THE streets of York will be packed with thousands of people next weekend for the fourth annual Jane Tomlinson 10K run.
About 6,000 runners will set off from Knavesmire through the streets of the city on Sunday to take part in the 2012 race.
The event starts at 9am and the public are advised there will be a number of road closures in and around the city centre which will be in place from 7am until 2pm.
Knavesmire Road will be closed between the junction with Tadcaster Road and Knavesmire Crescent from noon next Saturday until 4pm on Sunday.
Parking restrictions will also be in operation along Butcher Terrace, Knavesmire Road, Newton Terrace and Baille Hill Terrace from Saturday through to Sunday.
On race day there will be a number of road closures in and around the city centre at staggered times, with closures in place from 6.30am for inbound traffic and from 8.30am for outbound traffic.
Knavesmire Road and Racecourse Road will be closed until late afternoon.
Other roads will be progressively reopened between 10.15am through to 11.15am depending on the time when the last competitor passes.
