Woman and dog rescued from East Yorkshire canal

A WOMAN and her dog had to be rescued by firefighters after getting into difficulty in an East Yorkshire canal.
The woman got into difficulties after jumping in to rescue her dog which couldn’t get back on to the canal bank in Rawcliffe Bridge, near Goole at about 9pm on Thursday.
Firefighters said the woman suffered from the effects of the cold water and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
