Joint funeral for York avalanche victims

A JOINT funeral for two York men who died in an avalanche will be held on Friday.
Steve Barber, 47, and John Taylor, 48, both of Upper Poppleton , died on July 12 on Mont Maudit, in the French Alps.
A funeral sevice for the pair will be held at York Crematorium on Friday, July 27, at 9.15am, followed by a memorial service and celebration of life at St Everilda’s Church, Nether Poppleton, at 2pm.
The mens’ families have requested donations in lieu of flowers to Mountain Rescue, and a donation plate will be available at both services.
