River Foss oil probe continues

THE flow of oil which leaked into a stretch of the River Foss in York has been stopped as the investigation into where it came from continues.
The Press reported yesterday that the spillage had been seen on the river surface in Strensall, and Environment Agency teams were called in to deal with it.
The agency said booms had been put in place to block any further oil seeping into the river from a nearby beck and to absorb the substance, but the source of the leak is not yet clear.
A spokesman said there had been no signs of fish being killed by the oil but they were continuing to investigate.
