100 jobs go at Woodhead the Bakers

MORE than 100 staff at a North Yorkshire bakery have lost their jobs.

The employees at Scarborough-based Bakery Products Ltd have been made redundant after administrators were unable to find a buyer for the company which acquired part of Woodhead the Bakers when it went into administration last year.

John Russell and Andy Wood, from The P&A Partnership, were appointed joint administrators of Bakery Products last week and hoped to sell the business as a going concern.

P&A has set up a website to help staff with information on redundancy payments and other entitlements, insolvency4employees.co.uk.

What a shame and a mystery. That's my favourite bakers in York, I thought that was an area that was continuing to do OK as people were eating to cheer themselves up!
