A CHILD has been taken to hospital with a leg injury after an accident outside The Mount School in York.
North Yorkshire Police and ambulance were called to Dalton Terrace at 3.37pm today after reports that a girl, who is believed to be about seven-years-old, had been hit by a white Citroen Berlingo van.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "The girl is thought to be about seven-years-old and was taken to York Hospital with a suspected broken leg. Investigations are on-going and we would ask any witnesses to contact us on 101 with information."
Julie Lodrick, principal at The Mount, said she was unable to comment on whether the child was a pupil at the girls school whose alumni include Dame Judi Dench.
