HUNDREDS of bikers have taken part in a ‘ride of honour’ across North Yorkshire to raise funds for injured servicemen and women.
The motorcyclists travelled en masse on Saturday from Squires café bar at Sherburn-in-Elmet to Marne Barracks at Catterick Garrison, riding along the A1(M).
Organisers stressed that the ride was not a race or competition.
“It is a ride to show our respect and gratitude to those brave members of our Armed Forces,” said a spokesman, urging bikers to ride with respect for other road users and adhere to all rules of the road.
The ride raised cash for Help For Heroes, the Black Rat Regiment Fund and Afghan Heroes.

The photograph accompanying the article appears to show that those shown must not have been present when the 'spokesman' pleaded for participants to 'ride with respect for all road users'
