Updated: THREE people have been arrested following a fight outside a York takeaway which left a teenager with head injuries and saw a car and business vandalised.
Detectives are appealing for information and for witnesses to come forward following the assault and criminal damage which took place outside Ali G’s takeaway in Tower Street, York, in the early hours of yesterday.
Police were called at 3.15am after two men, aged 18 and 19, were involved in a fight with a 46-year-old man outside the takeaway.
The 19-year-old suffered head and hand injuries and was taken to York Hospital for treatment before being discharged. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of criminal damage, as was the 18-year-old.
The 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
All three men are from York and remain in police custody for questioning.
A section of Tower Street was cordoned off until yesterday afternoon and two police vans remained stationed outside the crime scene as officers began investigations into what triggered the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Tower Street around the time of the incident and saw the two men walking along the road or saw the incident take place to contact them.
