York Central MP Hugh Bayley and Coun James Alexander, leader of City of York Council, joined members of the 1st Holgate Scout Group to pick up litter and remove weeds from the bar walls as part of a Scout Community Week.
The week aimed to encourage Scouts to take part in their local communities, raise funds for Scout groups and highlight the need for more volunteers.
Mr Bayley said: “I remember doing good turns as a Scout and it’s great to see so many young people taking part in this litter pick to help out the local community. I am very happy to see that the Scouting movement is still playing such a strong role in York.”
