York Unitarians looking for help with history
8:17am Wednesday 16th May 2012 in News
As part of their preparations for this autumn’s Heritage Open Days weekend, on September 8 and 9, York Unitarians are compiling a piece of living history.
They are attempting to contact anyone who has memories of either the Unitarian chapel, people connected to it, or of any of the buildings nearby in St Saviourgate or Spen Lane.
They are particularly interested in photos or paintings of the chapel or buildings nearby, and would like to contact people who may have a story to tell about an event or activity they attended or a group they belonged to, or maybe just lived nearby.
Memories, however small, will help to build up a real picture of what life was like in the past. Photos or paintings will be included in a display that will become part of the heritage of the chapel and the local area.
For more details, contact Claire Lee at The Unitarian Chapel, St Saviourgate, York YO1 8NQ or phone 07930 275 889.
