UPDATE: 11.13am. Reports coming in that the A1237 close to Monk's Cross shopping centre has been closed due to standing water. Also, train services between York and London are delayed due to an incident, but should be running as normal by noon.

UPDATE: 10.15am. Traffic is also heavier than normal on the A19 northbound between Fulford Interchange and the A1036 Fishergate.

Queueing traffic and long delays continue on the A1237 Outer Ring Road, northbound between Copmanthorpe and the A19, Shipton Road. Travel time is at least 60 minutes.

TRAFFIC around York has almost been brought to a standstill due to the recent heavy rain.

Reports are coming in of very slow traffic on the A1237 Outer Ring Road, northbound between Moor Lane and the Clifton Moor Retail Park.

Motorists planning to use this route are advised to add 40 minutes to their travel time.

Traffic is also queueing through Poppleton and Rawcliffe, and flooding has caused stop-start traffic and delays of up to 20 minutes on the A59 eastbound between Newlands Lane in Upper Poppleton and Water End, York.
