CHILDREN and parents from Burton Green Primary School geared up for their Easter holidays with an egg-decorating competition.
More than 100 youngsters aged from three to 11 got creative for the annual event, held at the school in Clifton, York.
Lindsay Turner, chairwoman of the school’s Parent Teacher Student Association, said that some of the entries were particularly imaginative.
“It had to have a boiled egg somewhere in it, but some of them were up to the size of a fruit box,” she said.
“Parents and teachers join in as well - this year, the children actually voted for the winner.”
Year 6 pupil Hannah Dale took the top prize for her Olympic-themed entry, with hard-boiled eggs dressed up as runners and spectators.
