I AM grateful for the fact I have a wheelie-bin. The council has decided to cut the provision of black plastic sacks to residents who live in terraced houses.
While this may save a bob or two, I am concerned many residents won’t purchase their own black plastic sacks and will instead find other ways of disposing of their waste: effectively fly-tipping. Not to mention reducing the quality of the environment by leaving out a random assortment of bags that will blow in the breeze.
Cleaning up the mess will cost far more than the few grand this will save.
