A WOMAN aged 74 was taken to hospital with a suspected broken sternum following a collision involving four cars on the A59.
The incident happened at 9.50am near Whixley, and resulted in long tailbacks as emergency services removed the four vehicles from road. The injured woman was taken to Harrogate District Hospital, and her injuries were not though to be life-threatening.
