THE distraught mother of a missing York teenager made an emotional and heartfelt plea for her son to get in touch with his family, exactly a week after he disappeared.
Nicola Jobling was speaking yesterday morning near the spot where her 19-year-old son, Jordan Sullivan, was last seen running towards the River Ouse, off Acaster Lane.
Clutching the arm of her daughter – Jordan’s 17-year-old sister Georgie Jobling – for support, she said: “I am desperately begging for you, my gorgeous, gorgeous boy Jord to get in touch and please let me know you are safe.
“If there is an issue, you know we can talk about anything and everything. There is nothing that cannot be sorted. Come on Jordan, you know I don’t have to say I love you. Just come home to your family.”
His mother sobbed as she begged anyone who had information on Jordan’s whereabouts to come forward and she thanked everyone who had helped with the search so far.
She said: “I am appealing, as a mum, to anyone and everyone to come forward, if you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, about where Jordan is now.
“If you have seen Jordan in this area on other occasions, please contact the police. It’s not an area I was aware he knew or visited.” She broke down as she said: “Jord, I love you.”
Mr Sullivan’s father, Gary Sullivan, also attended the press briefing yesterday.
Jordan was spotted by a woman walking her dog at about 9.30am on Tuesday, February 14, as he ran along a dirt track off Acaster Lane towards the river.
His clothes and wallet were later were found nearby.
Search teams and family members have continued to scour the city following the teenager’s mysterious disappearance, but police scaled back the hunt and underwater searches concluded on Friday.
Mr Sullivan, a travel consultant at Quartz Travel in Heworth, is described as white, about 5ft 9in tall with a slim build and short dark hair, and he has a tattoo of a crucifix running between his shoulder blades.
Anyone who can help the investigation should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Jo Brooksbank.
