TWO suspected burglars were arrested in York after an eagle-eyed member of the public raised the alarm.
They were seen approaching a house in Gale Lane, Acomb, at about 2pm on Thursday and made repeated trips down the side of the property into the back garden.
A short time later, they reappeared carrying boxes and bags and left the scene. Someone who saw the events unfold contacted police and officers stopped a 27-year-old woman and man, 31, in nearby Cornlands Road, carrying what was believed to be property stolen from the house.
They were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been released on police bail.
