THERE have been 32 road accidents across North Yorkshire today, as the freezing conditions continue to cause widespread disruption.
Police say none of the accidents has caused serious injuries, but have urged people to take care over the weekend.
Chief Inspector John Wilkinson, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “If it is snowing or the roads are icy only travel if your journey is absolutely necessary.
"If you have to drive, give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination and when on the roads leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front.”
Police also warned people not to throw snowballs at homes or moving vehicles and urged residents to check on elderly or vulnerable neighbours who live alone, to see whether they need assistance.
