A YORK MP has welcomed an upgrade to a police website designed to give people a clearer picture of crime and antisocial behaviour.
The changes to police.uk mean the site now includes incidents recorded at stations and rail networks.
Crimes in locations such as shopping areas, nightclubs, parks, airports, universities, car parks and hospitals are to be added at a later date.
The website also now includes more specific details on precisely where incidents happened.
York Outer MP Julian Sturdy said: “In the year since its launch, the website has received an astonishing 453 million hits and this upgrade will make even more detail available.
“I’m pleased the Home Office is listening to the public’s demands for even more information on crime in their neighbourhood.”
