The Grump competition takes place in Scalby, near Scarborough

MOANERS from across Yorkshire are preparing to battle it out to see who is the grumpiest.

The Grump competition has been held in Scalby, near Scarborough, for the last three years, and the latest contest will take place in the village community hall tomorrow, during the annual produce show.

Participants are asked to whinge for a minute during the knockout rounds, with the quality of their rants based on audience laughter, and the winner receives a special trophy.

joking aside it sounds like a good event..

Allegedly, I caused a "stir" occasionally on here. I won't talk about my health (promise) but might mention the word 'fat' or rather 'excessively fat' comes to mind or join Pete the Brick... I gather it caused a few laughs! Many a true word said in jest. :) Oops.

My goodness, we are the grumpiest county (unless anyone knows better) and a comp to find the grumpiest of all. Set it off by mentioning 'cyclists' and they'll all come out - York's finest moaners...though they give endless amusemeent to some Dutch people I send occasional links to....'hey, you'll never believe this one'....
