LAURA Harryman, of Osbaldwick Guides has completed her Baden Powell Award, the highest award a guide in the ten-14 years age group can gain.
Laura, 14, had to complete challenges from five areas – healthy lifestyles, global awareness, discovery, skill and relationships and celebrating diversity.
Liz Burnley, who up until May this year was the UK Chief Guide, will present Laura with her award next week. Laura met Liz when they both completed a Three Peaks Challenge in April.
Laura said: “I can’t believe the ex Chief Guide is going to come to my guide hut to present my award. It’s crazy!”
In September, Laura will say goodbye to Osbaldwick Guides and move up to Heworth Rangers.
