A19 resurfacing works lead to road closures

RESURFACING works will take place over five nights this month, on a main road between York and Selby.

City of York Council will resurface the A19 Selby road from the junction of Landing Lane to near Naburn Lane from Monday, June 20.

To ensure the work is carried out safely, that section of the road will be closed on Monday to Friday, between 7pm and 11pm, and diversions will be signposted.

Bus stops will be closed during the times of the works and notices will be posted to direct passengers to the nearest available bus stops.

The last journeys on Park&Ride will be affected, requiring a diversion via the A64 and A1079 Hull Road, and route 42, on Friday 24 June, will be unable to serve Naburn except for the last bus from York.

I hope they do not use the same idiots who 'repaired' the Selby bypass. That surface is absolutely awful. Security words are fire-fire.... Quite apt, as that is what should happen to the contractors which did the Selby work....
