A Lord Mayor’s treasure hunt will take place during the York Residents’ First Weekend on January 29 to 30.
Participants will be able to collect a sheet of clues from the Mansion House between 10am and noon on the Saturday or Sunday, and then walk around the city solving the clues. Completed forms need to be dropped off at the Mansion House later the same day.
The clues have been devised by the Association of Voluntary Guides, who will also mark the answers. Entry costs £5 for an individual or for a team of no more than four and there will be a prize for the winners.
In the event of more than one correct entry, then a draw will be made by the Lord Mayor and the results will be announced during the first week in February.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities, the British Heart Foundation and Our Celebration.
