THE Beverley Festival of Christmas takes place on next month and promises to be the biggest yet.
This is the 16th festival, and will feature battle re-enactors the Sealed Knot performing a Civil War skirmish, a classic car rally, and a Victorian Christmas market with more than 100 stalls, selling food and gifts.
There will also be a Victorian fairground, street entertainers, various bands and dance groups, and an appearance by Santa and his reindeer.
Councillor John Bird, festival founder and chairman, said: “It is our most exciting and ambitious programme ever and there really is something for all the family to enjoy.
“We started from very humble beginnings and the festival has outgrown all our expectations. East Riding of Yorkshire Council has done all the organisation of the market this year and has been a tremendous help and support since the first festival back in 1995.”
The festival opens at 10am and closes at 4pm, with a park and ride service operating from Beverley racecourse.
