VETERAN panto dame Berwick Kaler is to switch on this year’s Christmas lights in one of North Yorkshire’s smallest villages.
Berwick, who is starring in York Theatre Royal’s panto, Jack And The Beanstalk, from December 9, will switch on the lights in the village of Burn, near Selby, at 5pm on Saturday, November 27, when he will dress as Queen Victoria. A charity Victorian market will run from 3pm in the Wheatsheaf pub car park.

pedalling paul wrote:Better idea Paul, I've always said you should be on the stage. You and me could star in our own panto version of Punch and Judy. I can play punch, you can annoy me as usual and each time you mention your bike I will bray you with my level. The armed police will turn up firing wildly in your defence but I will escape dressed as a horse. The police will then blame you for your own injuries and grass you up to Bupa so they refuse to treat you. You will then get eaten by a real crocodile, which has swum to York due to climate change caused by "uneccessary car use" and my Transit van.
I'll stick a few more lights on my bike and pedal round York, if that will help........
