Capture your model railway on camera in National Railway Museum’s photography competition

MODEL railway enthusiasts have a chance to get their hands on a selection of top prizes by entering the National Railway Museum’s photography competition.

Entrants are being challenged to submit photos of the most lifelike section of their model railway layouts.

The photos will be posted on the museum’s website and internet-users will be invited to vote for the model railway they think looks most realistic.

They will also be on display at the museum on November 6 and 7, when visitors will get the chance to vote for their favourite. The winner will be awarded two museum-branded models worth more than £170, annual subscription to the Model Railway magazine and a selection of railway books and DVDs to the value of £100.

To enter, email no more than four photos, including one which shows the entirety of the layout, to competitions@nrm.org.uk, typing “Model Rail Comp” in the subject line.

Don’t forget to include your name, address and phone number.

You may also wish to include a brief description about the layout with your entry, not forgetting to add whether it has been inspired by or based on a real location.

Photos must be no more than 300Kb each. The deadline for entries is November 1 and voting will close at noon on November 8.
