After the success of their number one self-titled debut in 2008, Dublin trio The Script are back with their sophomore album.

With more than 1.8 million worldwide sales of The Script, you would be forgiven for thinking their second shot would be a difficult and daunting task. Although it does not have the hard-hitting hits such as We Cry and Breakeven, it stands out in its own right. Especially first single For The First Time, which is riding high in the top ten in the midweek charts.

Everyone can relate to the thought-provoking and sometimes heartfelt lyrics: Exit Woundsis about the damage relationships can cause, while Don’t Change A Thing leaves the door open for the return of a loved one. Danny O’Donoghue’s voice is stronger than ever, now reminiscent of Sting in his early days, but is there anything new here? No, it’s sticking to the same old Script, and plenty will be happy with that.

• The Script play Leeds O2 Academy on Sunday.
