IMPROVEMENTS to a busy York junction have led to a temporary lane closure coming into force today.
Emergency drainage works to investigate a collapsed manhole at the junction of Blossom Street, Micklegate and Queen Street mean the two outbound lanes on Queen Street were being reduced to one lane from 9.30am.
The closure will remain into tomorrow while City of York Council’s ancient monuments team will also be carrying out work on Micklegate Bar while Micklegate is closed this weekend as part of the junction improvements.

Wouldn't take much for it to collapse, so maybe as well that it's been discovered at this time during the Micklegate Bar closure period.
As long as PP can get through on his preferred mode of transport then the world will be OK.

It's not a collapsed manhole, they've managed to dig into someone's cellar! Only CofYC could manage that.
