UPDATE: Sutton Bank has reopened after a lorry carrying pig carcasses shed its load this morning.
The dead pigs spilled on to the A170 at Sutton Bank at about 9.50am while the refrigerated lorry was negotiating the steep hill.
The road was closed while highways officers from North Yorkshire County Council cleared the scene.
