The winner of this year’s Miss York competition has failed in her bid to become Miss England.
Hannah Buffam, a 19-year-old English language student at the University of York, joined more than 50 other hopefuls at the finals in Birmingham yesterday.
The competition was won by Nottingham law student Jessica Linley, 21, who will now go on to fight for the title of Miss World in China next month.
Judges at the Miss England ceremony included former winner and reality TV star Danielle Lloyd, and Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas.
