AN inquest into the death of an eight-year-old boy at a swimming pool in Northallerton is expected to be opened on Tuesday.

Kaimen Ward, of Ashlands Road in Northallerton, died on Wednesday following an incident in the swimming pool at Hambleton Leisure Centre, in Northallerton.

Kaimen’s family has said the youngster’s death has left them “completely devastated”. They said he was a “lovely young boy” and the “best son and brother anyone could wish”.

Police inquiries into the death remain ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive has also been notified.
